The Reading Rush, previously BookTubeAThon, is a yearly international reading event. Basically everyone can get together online, spend a week reading a bunch of books and the lovely hosts will throw in a heap of events, like Reading Sprints, in between.
This year there is a brand new website, some challenges, and even a hint at potential prizes?!
This year the readathon will be happening from the 22nd to the 28th July.
And so, with the reading challenges in mind, let’s get stuck into my
as always very tenuous TBR list for The Reading Rush 2019!
◊ Read a book with purple on the cover | I actually had a few options for this one but I’m going to go with Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows because it’s on my shelf and it doubles for the Year of Asian Stories.
◊ Read a book in the same spot the entire time | So I am going to make things easy for me and knock off one of my graphic novel ARCs for this one – Mooncakes!
◊ Read a book you meant to read last year | So like nearly every book I looked at last year?! I’m putting down A Thousand Beginnings and Endings for this because it works for another challenge but also I just need to finally read it, please and thank you.
(Oh and another for YOAS!)
◊ Read an author’s first book | I am SO KEEN to read The Infinite Noise and it fits in this challenge nicely. If you haven’t listened to the podcast The Bright Sessions, which is created by Lauren Shippen as well and the basis for this book, then GO NOW!
◊ Read a book with a non-human character | Doubling up and using Mooncakes for this challenge as well because of its werewolfy goodness.
◊ Read and watch a book to movie adaption | This is the only challenge I don’t have anything lined up for. I DO have Jaws on my shelf but don’t know if I will pick it up this time around. And nothing else is jumping out at me right now. But who knows…
Honestly, who knows if I will get to all of these but that’s part of the fun! Everything on my TBR are books I need to get to anyway (because they are either library loans or ARCs) so hopefully, that will help!
Are you doing The Reading Rush this year? Have you read anything on my TBR? Drop a comment and let me know!
